WELCOME NOTE
Dear Friends,
Fetal medicine is evolving faster than ever before. What was once considered advanced is now regarded as fundamental.
During my training towards obtaining the FMF Diploma, I had the privilege of spending more than two years surrounded by colleagues from all around the world. We learned from one another, worked together, supported each other, stepped in when needed, scanned side by side, and shared ultrasound rooms. At different moments, we were all both juniors and seniors to someone else, regardless of age or experience.
For me, FMF is not merely a diploma; it is a community of colleagues and friends from whom I have learned, who have also learned from me, and with whom I have grown professionally.
The idea behind this symposium arose from a desire to bring part of the FMF knowledge, experience, and spirit to Croatia.
Together with FMF colleagues, as well as Croatian fetal medicine specialists who have built remarkable careers abroad, we aim to present what we consider the essential knowledge of fetal medicine in 2026 — both in theory and in everyday clinical practice.
Basics in Fetal Medicine 2026 is co-organised by The Fetal Medicine Foundation and the Croatian Fetal Medicine Society, a newly established association dedicated to promoting education, collaboration, and the advancement of fetal medicine in Croatia.

The official language of the symposium is English. All programme activities will be conducted without simultaneous translation.
CME Accreditation and Certificate of Attendance
The congress will be accredited in accordance with the regulations of the Croatian Medical Chamber regarding continuing medical education.
All registered participants with a paid registration fee will receive an official Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the congress.

All spots for the hands-on Masterclass on September 26, 2026 are fully booked. If you are interested, you can join the waiting list (by emailing lori@contres.hr) and will be notified if a spot becomes available.
The Symposium registration fee includes: access to the scientific programme, access to all congress-related activities, lunch and coffee breaks according to the programme, Certificate of Attendance and CME accreditation points, VAT.
The Symposium + Gala Dinner + Hands-on Masterclass registration fee includes participation in the Symposium’s professional program (September 25, 2026), a gala dinner, and participation in a hands-on Masterclass for a limited number of participants. The Masterclass includes practical education and work on ultrasound (US) devices with expert mentoring.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to the technical organiser, conTres, at maja@contres.hr. Participants who cancel their registration on or before 25 August 2026 are entitled to a refund of the paid registration fee, reduced by VAT and a 10% administrative fee. Refunds will be processed after the congress. No refunds will be granted for cancellations received after 25 August 2026.
A fee of EUR 20 + VAT will be charged for a change of participant name.
